About the Walk to Defeat MND 2024

Walk to Defeat MND is one of MNDSA’s major annual fundraising events enabling MNDSA to provide qualified, experienced and passionate staff to provide care and comfort, and supportive client services including occupational therapy, augmentative and alternative communication and assistive equipment to aid independence and the caring role.

Walk to Defeat MND is held in the beautiful grounds of Adelaide’s Pinky Flat, opposite Adelaide Oval on War Memorial Drive in North Adelaide. It is a relaxed, 4.5km walk on flat, wheel friendly terrain. It is a pet-friendly event, so we welcome and make provisions for your canine or other pet friends too. (Must be leashed).

Parking

There are various parking facilities in close proximity to Pinky Flat. Disabled access is available at the event site on War Memorial Drive. For more information, please visit the FAQ's.

Food, refreshments & entertainment

We have an array of food and refreshments, and entertainment including live music and kids’ games organised, or if you prefer, bring along a picnic and relax on the spacious lawns with friends and family before and after the walk.

Registration Information

All registered participants will receive a Walk to Defeat MND T-Shirt with their registration. Dog registrations includes a 'Dog Bandana'.

If you would like a Never Give Up beanie we will have stock for sale at the event.

Fees ADULT $50 & CHILD $30

Register & Fundraise (Individual)

Raise $250

& we will reimburse the cost of your ticket.

Raise $500

& we will reimburse the cost of your ticket and collect a free pair of MNDSA Socks at the event.

Raise $1000

& receive reimbursement of your ticket cost, collect a free pair of MNDSA Socks and a free Never Give Up Beanie.

Team Fundraising (for teams >10 people)

If your team raises an average of >$250 per team member each person receives a free Never Give Up Beanie.

Your impact

When you make contributions to MNDSA, there are various ways the money is spent to benefit South Australians living with MND.

From the moment someone is diagnosed with MND, anywhere in SA, MNDSA’s care and support services are available to them immediately. This support starts as information and advice, and quickly transforms into vital allied health care, equipment and communication support.

MNDSA’s Client Services team comprise occupational therapists, speech therapists, support service coordinators, equipment and communications specialists, to name a few.

MNDSA is in a growth phase, thanks to the generous support of our many donors, but there is a necessity to keep fundraising every year so that we can maintain this vital support.
